Mix butter, shortening, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and water. Beat until creamy.
Beat in eggs.
Gradually add the flour mixing as you go along. Mix in baking soda and salt.
Form balls of dough and place them evenly on grease plate/wax paper. Gently press them flat until they form “pancake like” circles that are about an inch or so thick.
Press candy corn into the tops.
Refrigerate all of the dough for about 20-30 minutes or until dough is firm. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place dough onto greased cookie sheet and bake each batch for 10-12 minutes. They might not look completely done when they come out of the oven but let them cool for an ample amount of time and you will have the softest, chewiest cookies you ever imagined!
